Forestry & Biomass - Latin-American Meeting and Forest-Based Biomass is a realization of Sindimadeira and Rural Association of Lages, SC, with promotion of Hannover Fairs eorganização South America Ltda, a German group Deutsche Messe AG, the largest organizer of trade fairs in the world, based in Hannover. The company is the organizer, among others, the LIGNA Hannover - the main and largest trade fair for the forestry industry in the world. The event has the support of the Government of Santa Catarina and Municipalities of Lages, Otacilio Costa and Correia Pinto.

Forestry & Biomass is part of the strategy to enter the mountain region of Santa Catarina in the calendar Latin American business events and aims to disseminate knowledge and technology relevant to the wood production chain, focusing on the forestry sector, the 1st wood processing and the use of waste materials, sectors that highlight nationally pole forest-based Sierra Santa Catarina.

Lages Brazil is the largest center of the forest-timber industry. The highest concentration of planted pine forests of the country is located in the region, which does not have an event in the industry to spread technology and quality in the planting, management, transportation and marketing of production.
