IEEE International Vacuum Electronics Conference (IVEC) 2012
April 24 - 26, 2012
Monterey CA , 米国
The Thirteenth International Vacuum Electronics Conference (IVEC) will be combined with the Ninth International Vacuum Electron Sources Conference (IVESC) and will be held jointly in Monterey, California on April 24-26, 2012. The meeting will be held at the Monterey Conference Center at the Portola Hotel and Spa under the sponsorship of the IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS). Monterey is a picturesque coastal community in northern California with a temperate climate year-round. Visitors from around the world come to Monterey to experience its natural coastal beauty, cultural resources, visit its renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium, and experience its rich historic past memorialized in the novels of John Steinbeck.
IVEC was originally created in 2000 by merging the US Power Tube Conference and the European Space Agency TWTA Workshop, and has now expanded to a fully international conference, being held every other year in the US, and in Europe and Asia alternately every fourth year. Recent conferences were held in Rome, Italy in 2009, Monterey, CA in 2010, and Bangalore, India in 2011. You can learn more about IVEC by visiting VacuumElectronics.org, the EDS Vacuum Electronics Technical Committee website.
IVESC was inaugurated as the Tri-Service Cathode Workshop in 1978, becoming the Tri-Service/NASA Cathode Workshop in 1990 and continuing until 1996 (Eindhoven, the Netherlands) when it, too, was expanded into the international conference it is now. At that time it changed emphasis to encompass a greater variety of vacuum electron sources. Since, then, it has grown into a successful biennial international conference meeting sequentially in the USA, Europe, and Asia. It was most recently in held in Nanjing, China, in 2010.
Both IVEC and IVESC return to Monterey, CA in 2012, reprising the joint IVEC-IVESC 2006 Conference also held in Monterey. As electron sources form the heart of vacuum electron devices, IVEC has historic
