28 August, 2015
New Delhi , India
The Economic Times understands in order to take e Governance to the next level, Digital India initiative indeed has the potential to bring about substantial changes in the way we live, study & do business. Hence we are coming up with ‘The Economic Times eTech Summit’ on 28th Aug 2015. With this initiative, we aim to gather key practitioners of ICT & Government on a common platform to deliver a more transparent and efficient governance mechanism. This Summit will also explore new trends and innovations that are transforming strategic priorities and enabling superior e Governance programs that add value to the citizens. The relation between Information Technology and Governance is integral and symbiotic. Aligning with this thought, the new Govt’s integration of e governance & digital transformation can be a game changer for India. The totality of this inclination also blends aspects of other policies of the Govt. such as Smart Cities & Make in India. Clearly the vision of digitally revolutionizing our nation is a long term one & would require substantial investment in terms of technological upgradation, manpower, harnessing digital literacy & most significantly a plethora of standards set out & adhered to. Although, significant progress has been made in the past with use of Information Technology for enabling better governance, with successful launch of Digital India Program, the stage is now set for taking e Governance to the next level. While the task is mammoth owing to multi-faceted challenges ahead, if the vision of Digital India is to be executed, it needs to be in a manner where the systems & processes emanating out of it would be able to talk to each other & the cost of the implementation is lower than the benefit derived from it.
