You are cordially invited to the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS) where you can learn the latest advances in MIS techniques and technology.
This year's annual meeting will feature:
• A full-day cadaver lab on Friday, with separate tracks in both MIS Essentials and MIS Advanced Technologies.
• Two days of CME-accredited didactic sessions, including research updates, in-depth technical lectures, small-group case discussions, and abstracts on the latest developments in MIS.
• Multiple Technology Forums showcasing the latest technology in detailed presentations, videos, and hands-on display.
• Target Audience
This course is designed for spine surgeons, fellows, and residents.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
• Describe the techniques and recent research associated with posterior and lateral minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) approaches and techniques.
• Discuss the role of minimally invasive approaches and techniques in the management of degenerative disc diseases, spinal deformity and spinal trauma.
• Describe the rationale and indications for various new and emerging minimally invasive spinal technologies, including motion sparing, and computer guided surgical technologies.
