APHA Annual Meeting & Exposition 2012

The APHA Annual Meeting & Exposition is the oldest and largest gathering of public health professionals in the world, attracting more than 13,000 national and international physicians, administrators, nurses, educators, researchers, epidemiologists, and related health specialists. APHA's meeting program addresses current and emerging health science, policy, and practice issues in an effort to prevent disease and promote health. 2012 APHA Annual Meeting
This year's meeting will be held October 27-31 in San Francisco, CA. Registration, the opening general session and a large number of sessions will be at the Moscone Convention Center West (800 Howard Street, San Francisco, CA 94103--corner of 4th & Howard). Additional scientific sessions as well as the Public Health Expo will be held at Moscone Convention Center South. Numerous scientific sessions and events will also be held at the Marriott Marquis.

2012 Annual Meeting Highlights

2012 Theme - Prevention and Wellness Across the Life Span
Scientific Sessions - The Annual Meeting consists of more than 1,000 scientific sessions, roundtables, poster sessions, institutes and panel discussions at which over 5,000 scientific papers will be presented.

Opening General Session - The opening will feature best-selling author, Gail Sheehy; CDC Director, Dr. Thomas Frieden and Executive Vice President and Chief of Medical Affairs at UnitedHealth Group, Dr. Reed Tuckson.

Closing General Session - The closing will focus on incarceration, justice and health. Keynote Speaker, Angela Davis, will discuss her research into prison systems around the world and the importance of building communities of struggle for economic, racial and gender justice.
