The British Journal of School Nursing and the School and Public Health Nursing Association (SAPHNA) are delighted to announce their 6th national conference: School and Public Health Nursing. For 2012 we will be taking this esteemed conference back to Birmingham to the scenic Lakeside Conference Centre, situated on the campus of Aston University.
School nurses have been given the spotlight recently in the media, and this conference will give all participants a breakdown of the latest developments in the field of school nursing and invaluable advice of how you can truly benefit and reform your current practice.
Our plenary lectures include:
• The invaluable contribution of school nursing to children and young people’s health – Viv Bennett, Department of Health
• The role of the school nurse in the commissioning cycle: it is your business! – Mary Kiddy, Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
• School nursing excellence in health protection: implementing the new HPV vaccine – Helen Ross, Central Essex Community Services
• Implementing the vision – grassroots to transformational innovation – Wendy Nicholson, Department of Health
• Promoting the emotional health and well-being of children and young people: it can’t be done without school nurses! – Deborah Bone, Step2 Early Intervention
Do not miss this event if you want to keep updated with the latest developments in the field of school and public health nursing. If you attend any conference this year, make sure it is this one.
