TDC - Tunnel Design and Construction 2011
August 15 - 17, 2011
Singapore , Singapore
With increasing needs for modern transports requirements and living space enlargement, a surge in investment for underground projects has been observed across Asia and the world in recent years.
While such projects have become increasingly common, tunnelling projects have not become easier as risks and complexities involved are no way similar to any other venture. As each project site presents different geological challenges, design considerations, construction methods, equipment selections and safety considerations will vary greatly as well. A project is further complicated when it is to be developed in urban areas, where extensive risk assessment and mitigation for existing infrastructure have to be done.
TDC 2011 is designed to assist participants to widen their knowledge and enhance their grounding in tunnelling design and construction. This is done via a comprehensive review of techniques and best practices, followed by intensive practical case studies to advanced participants’ abilities to apply the classroom knowledge in real life projects. Participants will also gain access to the latest development in the industry. Various challenges and difficulties in a tunnelling project will be discussed as well.
