This year nationally recognized visiting faculty will cover selected topics on advanced heart failure assessment and management to include self care for patients, pulmonary hypertension in heart failure, and new and upcoming therapies. Our distinguished faculty this year includes Arnold Katz, MD, James Young, MD, Barry Greenberg, MD, James Fang, MD, Gregory Lewis, MD, and Debra Moser, DNSc, RN, FAAN.

Objectives
At the end of this continuing education activity, participants should be able to:

-Discuss strategies to imporve outpatient heart failure management by implementing care management procedures.
-Describe an appropriate bedside assessment of a patient with heart failure.
-Discuss best practices and techniques to improve patient compliance and self-care.
-Discuss key elements of high output heart failure and treatment options.
-Describe the pathophsiology of arrhythmias in heart failure.
-Discuss the clinical decision making in using implantable devices.
-Discuss key controversies regarding advanced treatment options such as devices, LVAD, and cardiac transplant.
-Discuss the assessment of advanced heart failure including appropriate hemodynamic monitoring.
