Mississippi Department of Education - Mississippi Summer Conference 2010

The 2010 summer conference which was scheduled for June 14-18, 2010, at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center in Biloxi, has been cancelled due to the economic circumstances in our state. The 2010 summer conference was cancelled in an effort to conserve funds for MDE and the local school districts.

On August 11, 2009, the district superintendents were polled regarding the feasibility of their staff's participation in the 2010 summer conference. Eighty three superintendents responded. Forty five stated that the 2010 summer conference would not be beneficial to the local school district at this time. Thirty seven indicated that the 2010 summer conference would be beneficial, but the anticipated number of attendees was very low. One superintendent was undecided.
