The 2011 Jewelry Fair Korea opens Thursday through Sunday at C Hall, Coex, Samseong-dong, inviting 301 domestic and foreign brands.
The lineup includes 14 Italian labels such as Garavelli,
Delicate creations by local jeweler Gembros Gioro
famous for crafting pendant necklaces adored by U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, and Meli Gioielli, known for inheriting the goldsmith know-how of ancient Etruria. Also notable are collections by South Asian makers such as Jewel Collection Manufacturing from Mogok, Myanmar, the ultimate ruby capital that supplies some 90 percent of the world’s supply.
Visitors should also check out special thematic designs inspired by the first ladies of leading economies that participated in last year’s G20 Seoul Summit.
