Building Partnerships to Address Military Power Sources of the Future

As more and more energy is needed on today’s battlefields, it becomes increasingly essential to share knowledge and integrate resources to provide warfighters with power sources that are efficient, reliable and easy to transport and utilize. From ruggedized computers to communications systems to GPS to remote sensing and video, soldiers are carrying cumbersome loads of batteries to power these devices. As a result, heavy, expensive, non-rechargeable military batteries are slowing warfighting efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as weighing down soldiers in critical combat situations.
