Theme: 100 years of Aston Martin

Established in 1913 as ‘Bamford & Martin Ltd’ by Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin, Aston Martin became a symbol in the car world for luxury and elegance. Until the beginning of the 1950’s, the British company led a sleepy existence, but they did participate in the 24 hours of Le Mans for the first time in 1928. Many races were to follow, particularly when the company was taken over by David Brown and later merged with Lagonda. With the DB1 and DB2 the foundations were laid for a new generation of sports cars. Aston Martin became famous through the important supporting role of the DB5 in the James Bond films.
