The Faculty of Informatics is former Department of Computer Science in the Faculty of Science. With high demand of Computer Science and Information Technology specialist to response to the rapid growth in this area, the Faculty of Informatics has been established. Special effort is made to stay abreast with the rapid changes in computer science and information technology and to provide students with state-of-the-art training in preparation for productive positions in both academic and industrial environments. Students are instructed about the principles of computer organization, computer architecture, operating systems, programming languages, database design, software engineering, systems analysis and design, as well as specialty areas, such as information technology project management, management and manufacturing information systems, network design, artificial intelligence and office automation management, etc. Research interests of the faculty include the theory and application of artificial intelligence, bioinformatic, decision support system, data mining, graphic and image processing.
