BELVIDERE – The large Incredible Hulk balloon hovering over the entrance to the Boone County Fairgrounds on Saturday told passers-by something unusual was going on there.
It was a Zurko Promotions’ flea market with the usual array of items inside and outside the show buildings.
But this flea market, in its fifth year at the fairgrounds, was unusual in that it didn’t operate during typical daylight hours. It opened at 4 p.m. and didn’t close until midnight.
Independent lighting systems scattered about the grounds gave patrons plenty of visibility so they could check out the treasures offered for sale by area vendors.
Hours: 4pm to Midnight
