International Conference on Digesive Disorders 2013

The Indian Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (IAPEN) is an organization in the field of parenteral and enteral nutrition and promotes basic research, clinical research, advanced education, organization of consensus statements about clinical care and quality control.

The International Conference on Digestive Disorders is hosted and organized by IAPEN - Bangalore Regional Center and IAPEN - Tirupathi Regional Center on 23-24 February 2013 at Hotel Bliss, Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh, India. The conference theme is Opportunities and Challenges in Digestive Disorders Research.

There will be a workshop on 1) Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition based on LLL (The Life Long Learning (LLL) programme in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism) developed by European Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and 2) Practical management of various digestive disorders.

The conference plenary talks include Nutrition for Health Promotion and Digestive Disorders Prevention, Medical and Surgical Management of Liver & Pancreatic diseases, Intestinal Failure, Hepatoma and Cholangiocarcinoma, Probiotics, Pseudo-obstruction, Neuro-endocrine Tumours, Cystic Disease of the Pancreas and Management of Gastrointestinal Bleeding.

The last session on 24th February 2013 will be nursing symposia that celebrates the nurses contributions to patient care (Plenary talks, workshop and falicitation of nurses). After the conference, the participant should be better able to: 1) Identify the newest therapies and guidelines for managing wounds, pain, asthma, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, therapy, and more, 2) Identify your own position, role, and plan of action during ethical, legal, or interpersonal conflicts in the workplace and 3) Demonstrate skills learned at workshops and discussions that will help enhance your clinical competency and decision-making ability.
