Practical Management of Acute Stroke 2017

Education aimed at improving the knowledge & competence of practitioners to prevent & treat strokes has potential to improve outcomes in this large patient population. More than 795,000 strokes occur each year in the US, either new or recurrent, and cause significant morbidity and mortality. Improvements in acute stroke management, especially early recognition, assessment, and treatment, along with updated evidence-based guidelines to help direct decision making, have led to significant improvements in outcomes during the past decade.
