A new event for treasury professionals in the corporate, commercial and government sectors in Canada, from the world leader in cash, treasury and risk management

As one of the countries that has fared best in the crisis because of the close-knit relationship between government and banks, Canada is an example to the world.

However, Canada is not isolated and its trade links with the US make it vulnerable to its neighbour’s fate. Additionally, the vast majority of Canada’s natural resources are exported, integrating Canada into the international economy and exposing it to the risks of macroeconomic changes and commodity cycles. The recent turmoil in Europe has awakened fears of ‘contagion’ and so companies are trying to strengthen business ties with the BRICs – or some of them, at any rate.

Canadian companies are looking to diversify risks, widening their trade partner base in other territories. At the same time, government budgets are being squeezed, putting renewed pressure on public sector organisations to provide even better value for taxpayers’ money. Against this background, we present the best treasury practices to manage these challenges in a volatile world.
