Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends,
It is with great pleasure that the French Society of Thoracic and Cardio-Vascular Surgery welcomes you in Marseille for its 66th Congress in Marseille. The Congress President, Pascal Thomas and his two Vice-Presidents, Bernard Kreitmann and Frederic Collart bubbled over with ideas during one year to prepare a high
quality congress. They mixed in the cauldron of their preparation new ideas and rigor, originality and tradition, serious and craziness, to produce an exceptional vintage of our big annual meeting which has each year the particular shade of our guests. The Congress endorses this year the colors of the European Capital of Culture but also those of Continuous Professional Development, 2013 version of the phoenix of the Continuing Medical Education and recertifi cation endlessly reborn from its ashes. Sessions of high scientifi c quality and perfect independence will validate the cognitive aspects of the Continuing Professional Development.
This year again we were able to organize this Congress together with the nurses of our disciplines, perfusionists and anesthesiologists that we encounter every day. This merger, wanted for several years requires organizational efforts, concessions, adjustments, but brings back exchanges, meetings and developments that would not exist if we remained each in our ghettos. Good wind thus at the 66th Congress of the French Society of Thoracic and Cardio-Vascular Surgery. Take advantage of the sessions, take advantage of meetings, take advantage of the city and leave enriched of new knowledge, memories, and an always renewed desire to progress.
