Annual Defeating IEDs Training Workshops & Exhibition 2011

Improvised Explosives Devices are tactical means with strategic effect. They are the main cause of casualties of our troops in theatre but the same modus operandi could be used on our territories against civilian populations as we saw in London and Madrid. Defeating the global threat of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) is a priority to NATO and Allied nations, especially in theatre of operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and other hotspots around the world. A Multinational CIED Initiative is needed to establish a unified approach to defeat the Network, and to develop a comprehensive Doctrine and Performance-based C-IED Training.

This Years' event will be focused on developing a multinational training capability, Collecting, fusing, sharing and dissemination of actionable information to the troops in theater. We will also examine the current countermeasures deployed in theater and the Future global IED threats and emerging technologies.
