One week summer school for international graduate students in Magnetism.

The third annual IEEE Magnetics Society Summer School will be held in the historic city of
Dresden, Germany on the campus of the Institute for Solid State and Materials Research (IFW)
and co-hosted by the Forschungszentrum Dresden Rossendorf (FZD). The school is designed
for graduate students studying magnetism and related areas. It will consist of lectures by
international experts and will include poster presentations by participating graduate students.
The program will cover fundamentals and advanced topics in magnetism.

Support will be provided for approximately 50 students. Awardees will be provided with
free room and board and will be reimbursed for most of the cost of economy round trip airfare
(or equivalent ground transportation). A limited number of additional students may be
accepted with reduced or no financial support. Applications will be considered from any
geographical area. Participants must currently be MS or PhD students studying basic or
applied magnetics. Previous year’s participants are not eligible.
