Conference theme: ‘Gender and Democracy: Gender Research in Times of Change’

Today, in many countries we see growing nationalistic, reactionary and fundamentalistic movements. These political tendencies can be seen as threats on democracy as well as on gender equality in society. Hence, the theme of the conference aims at illuminating the role of gender research in this context and how can we understand the relation between gender research and feminist activism.
