SPE Unconventional Resources in the Middle East 2015

Unconventional resources represent a major strategic stake in the future evolution of the oil and gas industry, in the case of shale gas resources which are equivalent to about 50% of the remaining global gas resources. In the recent past, the activity related to their development has experienced a rapid surge in certain parts of the world, driven by the evolution of the oil prices and global markets. However these resources are yet to be fully assessed in the Middle East where the exploitation of conventional resources dominate the E&P activity, and therefore the subject is an emerging topic. A major effort is yet to be undertaken to properly evaluate these potential reserves, and given their geological characteristics, their related reservoirs will need the adequate production technologies.

The workshop will include two days of technical sessions guided by selected international keynote speakers, with a great emphasis on the subsequent Q&A sessions that will allow participants to exchange practical experiences and share their knowledge. It also will be a great opportunity for professionals working on this topic to expand their network in the region.
