The International Travel Fair TOUREST 2011 was held in Tallinn for the 20th time.

During three days the fair was visited by 20 853 people (with free invitations and tickets, as always, we did not count small children and exhibitors).

The 20th International travel fair TOUREST 2011 was officially opened by Mr. Toomas Hendrik ILVES, President of the Republic of Estonia. Together with the President Mr. Sven Lõokene, President of the Estonian Travel and Tourism Association and Mrs. Maria Alajõe, Board Member of Enterprise Estonia took the floor.

Traditionally, the Best Tourism Promoter and the Best Tourism Establishment of 2010 were announced. Best Tourism Promoter 2010 is Mr. Feliks Mägus, Managing Director of Nordic Hotels and Chairman of the Board of the Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association. Best Tourism Establishment 2010 is PÖFF – Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival.

TOUREST 2011 was attended by 458 exhibitors and co-exhibitors (a record!) representing 25 countries: Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates/Dubai, Ukraine and Estonia.

Three halls of the Estonian Fairs exhibition center were again at the disposal of exhibitors and visitors. In the Main Hall the sold out space was 2086m2, in the “Holidays in Estonia” Hall 1162m2 and additionally, the fair occupied a Children’s hall of 900m2.

In the Main Hall all big Estonian tour operators, all shipping companies, many airlines, bus companies, spas, hotels, providers of active, country and nature holidays etc. were present. On the Main Stage 14 travel games, 12 auctions and 20 presentations took place. Additionally, a varied entertainment program was offered by the exhibitors in their own stands.
