The panel will be moderated by Charles Arthur, leading tech journalist and former tech editor of The Guardian. It will look at the current challenges facing the PC industry and whether cloud-based services will become the PCs of the future. Other topics will include: How the PC is being challenged by an increasing use of alternative channels. The ecological issues associated with the PC - the use of rare materials, carbon impact and high energy consumption. Whether there is any innovation left in the PC industry. The event will also discuss the potential of cloud-based computing as the new PC, how the field is opening up new investment opportunities, and what the socio-economic implications of the possible death of the PC might be.
