August 28 - 29, 2014    Melbourne , Australia
Prisoners have significant health issues with high rates of mental health problems, communicable diseases, chronic conditions, alcohol misuse, smoking and illicit drug use. The health, well being and welfare of prisoners, both while in custody and during the transition to community, requires specialist skills and services. The 2014 Correctional Services Healthcare conference will bring together corrective health service directors and managers from government agencies, correctional facilities and community health services to address the gaps and multidisciplinary care needed to improve the continuum of care for prisoners. From clinical risk management to a detailed analysis of specific health issues and case studies, key stakeholders will discuss the latest strategies and research and share innovative projects that are making a difference across Australia.
