Sarcophagus is a game about realizing death. In this game, there is no way to escape the setting and the level of conflict is low.
“A Summer Sunday in June 2014 – just an ordinary day. At 09.27am the first breaking news: Violent explosions have hit London and Paris. Some networks claim they are nuclear blasts. At 09.56 am the news; Washington and Berlin have been hit.
A few minutes later sirens are heard over London. After five minutes the city is hit by a devastating explosion.
Below the city in a shelter a group of people are huddling together. They were the ones that took the sirens seriously and ran for shelter. Now they are trapped with no way out. There is no life to return to. The shelter will become their sarcophagus.”
Sarcophagus is a game about realizing death. In this game, there is no way to escape the setting and the level of conflict is low. Sarcophagus does not revolve around solving problems or playing dramatic scenes, but rather around the tense atmosphere in the shelter as the characters submit to their fate.
