Southeast Asia Offshore Summit 2013

We invite you to join us for Southeast Asia Offshore Summit 2013 (SEAOS 2013), August 28-29, Yangon, Myanmar. The theme of this year’s event is: Tap into the New Promising Land for Oil and Gas Exploration.

Featured government official and NOC speakers invited are from Myanmar, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, etc. As these countries are becoming the promising land for oil and gas exploration, new offshore oil and gas bidding rounds are open recently, and governments are encouraging international investment in their countries.
Myanmar Ministry of Energy will put about 25 offshore oil and gas exploration blocks up for auction in April 2013. And another 18 onshore blocks will be up for bids in January 2014, said U Zaw Aung, the director of planning at the national own Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE).

Meanwhile, U Than Htay, the Minister of Energy, told on March 4: “The government of Myanmar took necessary actions recently required to implement the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI)… The Ministry of Energy will make all of the terms and conditions [for bids] transparent and impartial, so the best proposals can be accessed and selected for award.”
