Annual AVCJ Forum: Asia’s Private Equity Week 2013

The AVCJ Private Equity & Venture Forum is the most important private equity event in Asia. Now entering its 26th year, this year’s AVCJ Forum will take place on 12–14 November at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong. As the premier event worldwide focused on Asian private equity, the AVCJ Forum brings together leading investors from across the globe for three days of high-level dialogue, debate and networking.

While global financial markets continue to be turbulent in 2013, the overall outlook for Asian private equity remains positive. Funds with proven track records and stable teams are beating the odds and attracting substantial commitments in what many consider to be one of the most difficult fundraising environments ever. The emerging markets of South-east Asia have increased their appeal as vibrant epicentres of consumer activity, while the North Asian markets of Japan and South Korea have once again returned to the spotlight. And although growth in China has cooled down a bit, the world’s second largest economy remains one of the most attractive destinations to deploy capital. Yet despite the growth story, Asian private equity has its challenges, including the difficult environment for exits as fund managers come under pressure to return capital.
