December 3 - 7, 2012
The proliferation and deployment of radio access networks such as Wireless WANs, Wireless LANs, and Wireless PANs with distinguishing characteristics of data rate, coverage range, power, mobility, and prices has created the opportunity for seamless and ubiquitous access across heterogeneous networks. Heterogeneous multi-hop wireless and mobile networks provide unlimited mobility and greater flexibility but also introduce a number of challenges due to dynamic network topology. Some of these challenges, and the main focus of this workshop, are seamless integration and the efficient use of power in heterogeneous networks. It is necessary to investigate the architectural and service aspects of heterogeneous networks and how they address the issue of power (energy) consumption. We are seeking original and previously unpublished research papers addressing theoretical and application issues in heterogeneous multi-hop wireless mobile networks.
