With the global economy recovery underway, the MRO business is expected to achieve pre-recession levels of activity by2011. Asia, in particular, is poised for strong growth with China leading the way. China has emerged as the big driver behind current and future growth in the aircraft MRO business, not just regionally, but globally.

According to Frost & Sullivan, China, equalling Singapore, has become the largest MRO market in Asia Pacific. MRO industry in China is projected to grow at 9-10% annually in the next 5 years, with total revenue reaching 70 billion USD in 2015.

In recent Years, the average annual air traffic growth rate reaches over 10.6%, with currently 1612 registered aircraft, and 3,500 units of aircraft engines (including spare), China has become the world second largest market, after the US, in terms of air traffic and passenger turnover.

It’s estimated that by 2015, the total aircraft fleet in China will own 2,890 civil transport aircrafts, with the total air traffic volume reaching 800-900 billion ton-km, which will be translating to a promising outlook for the China’s MRO industry.
