Indonesia is estimated to hold huge CBM reserves of about 453.3 trillion cubic feet (TCF) spread across 11 hydrocarbon basins. Out of these estimated reserves, as much as 112.47 TCF has been categorized as proven reserves and 57.60 TCF is still seen as potential reserves.



The South Sumatra Basin, the largest CBM basin in Indonesia, is estimated to contain in-place resources of approximately 183 Tcf; and the Kutai Basin, the third largest CBM basin in Indonesia, is estimated to contain in-place resources of approximately 80 Tcf (SPE, 2004)
