The Scottish Kennel Club is the leading canine authority in Scotland, existing for the main purpose of promoting and encouraging the improvement and well being of dogs.

It does this in several ways: By actively seeking to enlist dog owners as members; by running a variety of shows and other canine events; by acting as a licensing authority for most pedigree dog shows in Scotland; by providing an information source to members of the public relating to dogs in Scotland; and by means of an education programme.
