October 3 - 9, 2010    Krakow , Poland
Everyone who has ever visited Krakow agrees that it is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Unlike Warsaw and much of Poland, it was spared major destruction during the wars of the 20th century, and so it preserves the largest assemblage of Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Art Nouveau buildings and monuments in Poland. A city of only 740,000 inhabitants, it was selected as the City of European Culture in 2000, and is by far the most frequently visited in Poland. The importance of Krakow takes root not only in its magnificent history and heritage, but also in its human potential: the educational, the creative, and the entrepreneurial. The Jagiellonian University (the site of our meeting) established in 1364, is Europe’s second oldest university. Today Krakow’s 17 colleges provide education for nearly 130,000 students.
