The International Linguistic Association (ILA), a professional organization founded in October 1943 as the Linguistic Circle of New York, is devoted to the study of all areas of linguistics and their roles in society. Teachers and students are invited to submit abstracts for papers for the 55th annual conference to be held in conjunction with the American Dialect Society—Northeast region, at the State University of New York at New Paltz, April 15-17, 2010.
