FIVE REASONS TO BE AT SEMICON Russia 2009! * Russia’s State strategy is aimed at building a strong innovative economy and the government continues supporting the ICT sector, including semiconductor manufacturing. * Funding of local and international projects continues—through direct investments and/or state-owned bank credits. * Local device manufactures are interested in teaming up with Western companies by either building new facilities or upgrading/expanding existing sites. * In addition to three ongoing semiconductor manufacturing projects in Russia, there are about fifteen investment projects being considered by RusNano for funding, including Semiconductors and PV (polySi, solar cells & modules). * The Russian Federation has become an associated member to EU R&D projects in FP7, Eniac and more. Under these alliances, Western and Russian companies have the opportunity to receive funding of joint projects from the EU and RF.
