Indo-Danish International Conference on Wind Energy: Materials, Engineering and Policies (WEMEP) 2012
conferencias > Advanced Materials, Composites conferencias > Indo-Danish International Conference on Wind Energy: Materials, Engineering and Policies (WEMEP)
November 22 - 23, 2012
Hyderabad , India
Renewable energy sources have become a necessity rather than a choice and there is a huge potential for wind energy but there is a lot to be perfected in all aspects. Particularly most regions of many countries including India are classified as low wind energy regimes necessitating identification of appropriate models for estimation and realization of potentials, site selection, new materials such as composites, new techniques of manufacturing, and policy making. This conference is aimed at providing a platform for discussion and dissemination of knowledge through the participation of all stake holders also leading to certain recommendations on future course of action. Accordingly, the thrust areas of this conference are as follows but not limited to:
-Turbine blade design and manufacturing
-Future material for wind turbine: thermoplastics, natural composites, carbon fibre composites, sandwich core materials, hybrid materials
-Environmental effects on wind structure components
-Multi-scale modeling: materials and structures
-Multiscale testing: laminates and structures
-Off-shore wind energy technologies
-Structural health monitoring
-Models for estimation of wind energy potential
-Site selection for wind energy harnessing
-Wind energy application: technical challenges
-Grid connectivity issues for wind energy
-Analysis and design methods for wind turbines
-Wind energy technologies for off-grid applications
-Design of gear systems for wind turbines
-Policy issues for promotion of wind energy
Any other relevant topics
Who Should Attend
This conference is relevant to academics, research scholars/students, scientists, engineers, managers and policy makers, whose activities involve instruction/research/business/ policy making in wind energy and related fields.
