September 19 - 20, 2011
A supply chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and in today’s increasingly globalised environment rife with competition, volatility and risk, supply chains must now not only evolve but be resilient to stay ahead. Globalisation has rapidly transformed supply chains across all industries and this has resulted in highly complex supply chains, unreliable delivery times and quality of products, as well as longer lead times. In such a closely interdependent state, supply chains must demonstrate high degrees of visibility, adaptability, and responsiveness.

The 2nd Annual Supply Chain Senate brings all these issues into perspective as it is no longer enough to respond to these challenges with conventional supply chain strategies. Global experts in the field will address topics such as building a resilient supply chain, weathering unexpected disruptions, improving efficiency and profitability through accurate demand planning, and developing a comprehensive risk mitigation system.

Some of the crucial issues that the conference will focus on:
*Dealing with unexpected disruptions in the supply chain
*Building a resilient supply chain by utilising risk management and mitigation
*Surviving volatile and fluctuating market demands
*Structuring a sustainable supply chain
*Identifying the need for seamless integration of IT systems into the supply chain
