The 9th international exhibition for water technology, desalination plants and accessories show will offer sate of the art solutions to support the Kingdom’s efforts to produce and conserve water for residential and industrial needs.
Saudi Arabia produces 18 percent of the world’s desalinated water, a figure that is set to rise with $350 billion being invested to upgrade old water desalination plants and several new plants to come online. Currently, up to 70 percent of the kingdom’s drinking water requirements are supplied by desalination facilities, and production capacity is set to reach 1.1 billion cubic meters in 2010. With a growing population, water demand is set to continue, from 3 billion cubic meters in 2010 to nearly 4,000 billion cubic meters by 2020.
