Tenth Mill Operators Conference 2009

On behalf of the organising committee I invite you to gather in Adelaide this October for the tenth installment of The AusIMM Mill Operators’ Conference series. The Mill Operators’ Conference only comes around once every two or three years and always delivers a quality collection of technical papers combined with a packed social agenda, associated workshops and must-see site tours. Come along to Adelaide in springtime to update yourself with the latest developments while mixing with colleagues, suppliers, researchers and the leading lights of the industry. Our theme for the Tenth Mill Operators’ Conference is ‘The Boom – Experience Gained and Lessons Learned’. We have invited authors to reflect on the last few turbulent years which have yielded both success stories and hard lessons. The boom was a time when most of us were too busy to stop and think. Many of us did our best trying to run fast enough to keep up with demand and developments at our mine sites while others were travelling around the world from project to project or problem to problem. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and so it has been with the Mining Boom. However, it is now more important than ever that we make the right decisions about processes, technology and equipment so we can survive this lean time in our business. As you can see from our list of papers, the Mill Operators’ Conference promises to provide you with vital information across a wide range of flowsheets, commodities and unit processes and provide you with opportunities to talk to the individuals that have written about these experiences now that the ‘merry-go-round’ of the boom has slowed.
