The Busan International SMart Shoe & Parts has been the primary showcase to exhibit KOrean footwear products and for international products to reach the domestic marketplace since its inception. Initially strated as the BUsan International Footwear and Leather Show in 1999 by KONTRA, the KOrea TRade-Investment Promotion Agency, BITFOS was designed to boost interest in the KOrean shoe market following the exodus by athletic company production facilities from KOrea to China.
