“The TRANSTEC Exhibition, organized in Russia since 1994 has become one of the most significant events with direct influence for the development of the transport system of the whole Euro-Asian Continent.
The TRANSTEC topics hit directly the task of the development of the trade between Russia, EU and Asia. For example, the realization of the project of the North Transport Corridor, supported by European Union, will benefit the creation of the united transport system of ports and infrastructure of Russia and North Europe. The participants of the project include some 20 participants from different countries including Russia (Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Yamalo-Nenets Region) UK, Iceland, Greenland, Norway
Another priority topic is to develop North-South transportation via sea ports and inland waterways and the creation of the new transport knot (cross-roads) of transportation between the EU and South-East Asia on the Russian Black Sea coast near Rostov-on-Don
Russian sea ports process 60% of the export-import cargo flows of Russia, now the port transportation volume has increased 3.5 times comparing with the year 1990. Total cargo turnover of Russia actually puts Russia on the 8-th place in the world in cargo flow figures. By 2015 Russia will increase cargo flows another 1.5 times.
