CTBF - Cape Town Book Fair 2009

13-16th June are the dates for Cape Town Book Fair 2009, to be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Attended by more than 50,000 visitors last year, this is the largest book related event in Sub-Saharan Africa. The Cape Town Book Fair presents a perfect place to get an overview of the literature and publishing from other African countries. In 2009, a significant emphasis will be placed on this as part of a collaboration between ourselves and the Goethe Institute. You will also meet many of the Southern Africa's most prominent intellectuals who come here to discuss, debate and voice their opinions. This year, we will be focusing on the literature from each corner of Africa. The countries chosen will be given significant focus on our seminar programme. We invite visitors and exhibitors to watch this space as we introduce the countries and participants. Migration, Cultural Diversity, African Scholarship all contribute to the evolving African literary landscape and so we look forward to presenting a wide ranging 2009 programme. This year you will also have the opportunity to hear voices from Romania and India. Read more about all the participants in the seminar programme.
