According to the World Health Organization (WHO) more than 1.9bn adults, 18 years and older, were overweight in 2014. The United Nations' goal, set in 2010, to halt the increase in obesity by 2025, will not be met if the current trajectory continues. The Economist Events' summit will bring together policymakers, the corporate and the civil society sectors for the first time, in one place, to connect the dots and forge new relationships in the global battle against obesity and its associated diseases.
