In parallel with the increasing dynamism of construction industries especially in Middle East and Northern Africa, international construction and natural stone companies heading for Turkish natural stones and marbles preferred Istanbul for purchases this year. The Natural Stone Fair, which ended on 28th of November, witnessed a boom in orders. The fair, which made almost 15% contribution to the industry's exports also doubled the purchases to $200 million USD...
The fair that hosted buying delegations from more than 18 countries also witnessed 30% increase in the number of foreign visitors compared to the previous year. A total of 28,143 visitors including 4,061 foreign visitors found a chance to contact with the exhibitor companies. Most of these foreign visitors came from China, India, Iran, Greece, Jordan, Russia, Turkic Republics, Libya, Italy, Israel, Iraq, Bulgaria, UAE and Germany. Besides officials from Burj Al Arab's China based contractor company, representatives from the Oman based company that accounts for 30% of entire natural stone trade to United Arab Emirates also made significant amounts of purchases during the fair.
Having achieved a 40% growth in 2010, the 8th of Natural Stone Fairs will be held again in CNR Expo Istanbul between the dates of 27 and 30 October, 2011.
