The Combined Scientific Meeting 2011, we are delighted to invite you to Hong Kong – ‘The Gateway to China’. We are proud to host such a wonderful meeting and have ensured a comprehensive academic programme and excellent social events that won’t disappoint!
The theme of our meeting is “Seeking the Dragon Pearl”. In ancient Chinese folklore, the pearl of the dragon was a symbol of that most valuable and sacred treasure: wisdom. Legend has it that the dragon held a powerful pearl. Pearls were believed to be the tears of the moon in Chinese mythology. Some of the tears were taken up by dragons who watched over them in great submarine palaces. The dragon pearl is said to be the dragon’s most coveted and sacred treasure and is considered an emblem of wisdom.
