The 2011 Midwest Great Lakes Regional Conference. As the name implies, the theme for the 2011 conference is "connect". Why? Our rapidly evolving and connected global landscape begs for it; no, demands it. Making connections is critical to successful learning, on a multitude of levels. It rejects siloed, compartmentalized thinking (and teaching for that matter) in favor inspired holistic and systems thinking. Making connections creates possibility where before there were disparate thoughts, ideas or parts. Making connections is fundamental to the learning process.
