This year, key players in the hydrocarbon industry will be assessing the Nigerian Content Act 2010 aimed at opening up the oil & gas sector to international and indigenous operators. The Act was introduced to consolidate the objective of increasing Local Content participation in the country’s oil and gas industry. This legislation ensures that, the indigenous companies are given greater responsibility in the development of the industry through a government target which allows for a compulsory 70% implementation of indigenous labour, materials and resources in all oil and gas projects in Nigeria.
