The British Journal of Midwifery is delighted to announce this major annual two day conference “Based on what evidence? Contemporary issues in midwifery practice”. Now in its 9th year, this is an event not to be missed by any midwifery professional who wishes to keep up to date with the major issues of today.

The conference, to be held at the prestigious Palace Hotel, Manchester on 5th & 6th May 2011, will bring together leading experts in the fields of midwifery in order to debate and discuss the topics that are of fundamental importance to midwives.

Sessions will include:-
• Using evidence to inform national and international guidelines
• How evidence has informed practice in normal birth, high risk pregnancy and post natal care
• Consumers’ contribution to evidence based practice
• Limitations of using evidence to inform practice
