Welcome to “Aviana Asia 2011” International Expo for Poultry & Livestock to be held from 08-10th September, 2011 at United World Trade Centre, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Aviana Asia 2011 is considered to be first in Nepal, but Aviana will be held for the fourth time respectively in May 2011.

NEPAL OVER VIEW

Nepal is emerging and fastest growing market in Poultry and Livestock Sector in Asia with strategically located between India, China and Pakistan.

Human population in Nepal is approx 30 Million.

Poultry-

To date, there are a total of 76 big hatcheries, 115 feed mills, 500 layers and 1,000 broiler farms in Nepal.

The populations of commercial broilers and layers are 46.76 million and 6.4 million, respectively, in 2009/10.

Production of chicken shot up by 1.26 billion head (12 per cent) over the same period. Total feed production has gone up by 16 per cent to 581,132 tons during the review year.

Dairy-

In 2001, Nepal had an estimated 6.9 M head of cattle, 3.6 water buffalo, 0.85 M sheep, 6.5 M goats, and 0.9 M hogs. Traditionally, butter and cheese are among the leading exports of Nepal. Livestock products in 2001 included an estimated 342,000 tons of cow's milk, 20,000 tons of butter and ghee, and 614 tons of wool (greasy basis).
