3 July, 2017    london , United Kingdom
Join us for the launch of the 'Beyond Borders' installations with talks, debates, performance, film and music for our summer RIBA Late. Each summer, the RIBA gives practicing architects and students the opportunity to display their ideas and work through the Architecture Open. This year, the RIBA invited RIBA chartered architects, practices, architecture students and non-members to design site-specific installations for its headquarters at 66 Portland Place, London, and at the newly opening RIBA North in Liverpool. The installations will launch in July and remain in place until September 2017. Architecture as a discourse has historically been an international discipline operating beyond and between borders. Responding to this year’s open-call theme, ‘Beyond Borders’, RIBA will exhibit projects that rethink the thresholds that divide nations, communities and families and consider the possibilities of our shared boundaries on global, local and domestic scales. Full programme to be announced. Community partners: Carnaval del Pueblo and Latin Elephant. Architecture Open is sponsored by Cosentino.
